Electorates


Each Member of the House of Assembly represents one electorate within the State of South Australia, and is elected for a term of four years. There are 47 electorates in South Australia. Every Member of the Legislative Council represents the whole State, and is elected for a term of eight years. There are 22 Members of the Legislative Council, with half (11) being elected at each election.
